Dallas

Suzi Beall Shaw is a heart-driven Texan, living in Dallas with her two lovely daughters, and a pack of four furry companions. Their youngest, Molly, brought them on an unexpected but transformative journey when she was diagnosed with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome prenatally, when her birth-mom was 34 weeks pregnant.

In 2013, Suzi felt the call to action and joined 22q Texas as a volunteer, starting as a director at large. It was a time when Molly was just a tiny tot of 8 months old. Guided by the experience and enthusiasm of Heather Holder, the longest-serving 22q Texas president, Suzi quickly rose to become the organization’s vice president, soaking up knowledge and passion along the way.

Then, in 2022, Suzi stepped up to the plate, taking on the role of president. With her genuine love for people and a knack for connecting, she’s become a beacon of support for families navigating the complexities of 22q11.2 deletion syndrome.

Suzi’s warmth and kindness aren’t confined to the 22q community alone. She’s also served as a commissioner on the City of Dallas Commission on Disabilities and dedicated five years to coordinating the local Kids Heart Challenge for the American Heart Association.

Suzi Beall Shaw embodies the spirit of Texas hospitality and compassion, turning her personal journey into a guiding light for others on similar paths
