Krystal Torres
Krystal Torrez is a dedicated operations and finance director professionally, with a passion for supporting families facing the challenges of special needs. As the treasurer for 22q Texas, she combines her professional expertise with her personal experience to make a meaningful impact in the community. A proud mother of three boys—ages 13, 12 and 8—Krystal’s journey began with her eldest son’s autism diagnosis. This experience deepened her understanding of the special needs landscape, particularly when her youngest son, Tucker, was born prematurely at 4 pounds, 14 oz. After navigating the complexities of securing a diagnosis through genetic testing, Tucker was finally diagnosed with 22q distal deletion at the age of two.
Krystal’s connection to 22q Texas began with a search for resources on Facebook, leading her to discover the annual Camp 22q Texas just 15 minutes from her home. Eager to connect with other families and learn more, she volunteered at the camp and was invited to join the board by the end of the weekend. With her unique blend of personal and professional insights, Krystal is committed to empowering families and fostering a supportive community through her work with 22q Texas.
