Sarah Knerr
Sarah Knerr has been a dedicated board member at 22q Texas for the past five years, contributing to the organization’s mission since she first encountered it in 2009. Her journey with 22q Texas began when she attended an event in Dallas. Sarah’s involvement includes overseeing the daycare at the 22q Texas family retreat and coordinating the popular 22q at the Zoo event in Abilene.
Sarah’s personal connection to the cause is profound. She and her husband, JJ, have been married for 23 years and are proud parents to two daughters. Kaitlyn, who has 22q deletion syndrome, is now an accomplished adult with a full-time job and a recently earned driver’s license. Their younger daughter, Kamryn, is currently a high school student.
Professionally, Sarah brings 33 years of nursing experience to her role, specializing in oncology. In her free time, she is an avid traveler and food enthusiast.
Sarah’s blend of personal experience, professional expertise and passion for the 22q community make her a valuable asset to the board and a tireless advocate for families affected by 22q deletion syndrome.
