T’Wana Jones-Wilson
T’Wana Wilson is a dedicated advocate working to uplift families affected by developmental disabilities. Based in Beaumont, T’Wana has been serving on the 22q Texas board as a Director at Large since 2021. Her pivotal contributions include launching the first 22q at the Zoo event in Beaumont and securing a proclamation for November 22 as 22q Awareness Day and the entire month as 22q Awareness Month.
A devoted wife, mother of three, and Mompreneur, T’Wana is also the author of The Chronicles of BLUE: Me, You and 22q, inspired by her son, Kaymon, who has 22q and autism. She holds a Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES) certification and has extensive experience in pediatric behavioral therapy. As a Human Services Specialist with the Texas Correctional Office on Offenders with Medical or Mental Impairments (TCOOMMI), she focuses on supporting individuals with special needs as they reintegrate into the community. Additionally, T’Wana works as a Community Living Support Specialist, aiding children and youth with significant mental, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
T’Wana’s personal journey drives her passionate advocacy for entrepreneurship, disability awareness and family empowerment. She is actively involved in organizations such as Iota Phi Lambda, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. and the Order of Eastern Star, and she volunteers as a proposal reviewer for conferences focused on strengthening communities and supporting individuals with disabilities. Her mission is to raise awareness, offer support and empower families dealing with 22q, autism and intellectual disabilities, promoting resilience and hope for a brighter future.
